Hi, my name is Jayden, and I am 14. I am a swl, (Perhaps, i've sent you reports). Anyways, I was wonderding where you could buy a HF radio real cheap, and it be still working?

Take a look at qrz.com (requires registration) and swap.qth.com to get a
    look.

I just bought a Kenwood TS-440S that works great for $50 from an
    estate sale.

Reminder that you need to have a General class license or higher to
    transmit.

Welcome Jayden. Good luck on your HAM journey. There's a lot of folks around the BBS community that would be willing to help, unfortunately, I am not one of them. Just wanted to send a shoutout.

your swl credentials are already quite impressive in the HAM community, people speaking of how you are able to pull peoples callsigns out of pure noise, good work man, keep it up. Check with QRZ, and work on getting that HAM ticket.

Not strictly true. Techs have limited HF privileges: phone
and data on a portion of 10m and CW on 15, 40 and 80. Of
course, one needs _a_ license to transmit legally in the US.

Like someone else said, estate sales, but also hamfests.

There are some new/modern SDR-based HF radios online, too. Just depends on how much money you can spend.

You're correct. I just didn't think about that. I just meant that if you
    do not have a license.

I'm marking 2025 my 28th year of being licensed. I think I enjoy the hobby even more now than I did when I was first licensed.

I also obtained a GMRS license recently. My callsign is WSBW961.
